How can a space re-unite and strengthen Muslim and local communities that are divided by forced media narratives?

Abstract:
The constant negative portrayal of Islam and the distinct rise in Islamophobia has forced young Muslims into defensive positions, causing a divide between Muslim and non-Muslim communities.
Having to constantly feel victimized and defend one’s faith, while fighting off the natural doubts and insecurities that arise in such environments can have a significant impact on one's mental health.
Thus, young Muslims should be intellectually equipped and spiritually anchored in a way that empowers them to deal with the discrimination routinely leveled against them and their faith.
Sacred Muslim youth center will provide Muslim youth (ages 12+) with a safe space that offers them frameworks to refute common misconceptions while sharing their faith and culture with others to enhance understanding.
Sharing knowledge of the faith will not only equip young Muslims with confidence but will also help bridge the gap between many cultures and communities.

How can a space re-unite and strengthen Muslim and local communities that are divided by forced media narratives?

Solution:
If I create a safe educational/ collaborative environment for all,
then that space itself will help unite people through constructive dialogues,
because telling our own story is the only way to counter the narratives that have been forced upon our community.
